A flood alert warning has been put in place in and around Machynlleth.
This warning for the Dyfi Catchment, from Natural Resources Wales, means that "flooding is possible" and that people should "be prepared".
There are currently eight flood warning across North Wales as heavy rain is expected to fall.
In an update late last night, NRW said that river levels are above normal. "Some localised flooding problems may result from surface water," it said.
NRW will continue to monitor the situation. Any updates will follow.
