POLICE are urging 4x4 enthusiasts not to travel to North Wales this weekend as they will be in breach of stay local regulations.

The Wrexham Rural polcing team said it was aware of several 4x4 events due to take place in the county.

Although First Minister Mark Drakeford announced the easing of stay local and lockdown measures - the changes do not come in to force until Monday (July 6).

Wrexham Rural police said: "We are aware of a number of 4x4 events due to take place in Wrexham county this weekend. Also that people may be intending to travel into north Wales to participate in off road events.

"Please note that the current Covid restriction remain in force.

"Please do not travel excessively and do not encourage others to breach legislation that is there to protect us all."
