MCDONALD'S has submitted a planning application to bring the world famous 'golden arches' signage to Welshpool.
Last month Powys County Council granted full planning permission for a restaurant with drive-thru facility, car parking, customer order displays and all associated works, on land next to the Buttington Cross Enterprise Park, near the livestock market.
But the fast-food giant has had to submit a separate application to install signs and screens at the site, including the famous golden arch.
The planning application will be decided on by Powys County Council planners at a later date.
It is anticipated the arrival of McDonald’s to Welshpool will provide employment for 65 people, both full-time and part-time, and there will be 26 car parking spaces created at the site.
