WHITTINGTON Castle is back open following months of closure in line with Covid-19 restrictions.

The castle will be opening four days a week initially as it gets set to welcome visitors again, with its first day back on Wednesday, July 1.

Attractions across the county are preparing to reopen after being given the green light by the government to do so.

The castle will be offering takeaway drinks, cakes and ice cream, and will accept card payments or exact money only.

It will be open between 11am and 2pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, and 11am until 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Whittington Castle Preservation Trust gave thanks for the support the site has received during what has proven to be a difficult time for the castle.

A fundraiser was set up to save the castle from closure, and so far more than £11,400 has been raised.
