We are taking a trip down Memory Lane this week to bring you this picture of Welshpool in the 1950s.
The photo shows a group of children standing near the old Maypole in the Haley Gailey at Puzzle Square.
Mel Jones, who sent the photo to us for our Memory Lane section, is included in the picture. He is pictured standing nearest to the Maypole alongside Martin Riley, Roger Riley, Jamie Evans, Robert Evans and John Bellaby.
But can you tell us the names of the other children pictured in the photograph?
The earliest recorded evidence of maypoles in the UK comes from a Welsh poem written by Gryffydd ap Adda ap Dafydd in the mid-14th century, in which he described how people used a tall birch pole in Llanidloes.
The photo was sent to us through Facebook by Mel, who is a member of the Powys County Times Camera Club.
If you would like to share your photographs of years gone by, which may be featured online and in the newspaper please visit the Powys County Times Camera Club Facebook group, or simply e-mail news@countytimes.co.uk.
