A VITAL life-saving service has been given a boost by the fundraising efforts of a woman who had to celebrate her birthday before the coronavirus lockdown.
Rosie Molloy-Davies from Newtown raised £500 at her 21st Birthday Party by requesting donations instead of gifts for Wales Air Ambulance.
Rosie offered her thanks to all the guests who attended the Party at Kerry Village Hall, and everybody who donated to the charitable cause.
Wales Air Ambulance covers the whole of Wales every single day.
Each year its helicopters attend around 2,500 missions, covering rural countryside and towns and cities.
This includes the length of the Welsh coastline and across our vast mountain ranges. One of its four airbase operations is located in Welshpool where volunteers ready to saves lives wherever needed.
Wales Air Ambulance is funded by the people of Wales; relying entirely on the public’s support to help keep the helicopters flying. The charity does not receive direct funding from the government and does not qualify for National Lottery funding.
It needs to raise £6.5 million every year to operate.
