A POPULAR ale trail that brings thousands of people to Bishop’s Castle has been cancelled.
The Bishop’s Castle Real Ale Trail, which is based around the town’s pubs serving a large selection of real ales, was due to take place in July.
However the coronavirus and government rules on social distancing meant that the 24th event will instead be held next year.
The King’s Head pub announced on Facebook: “It is with regret that the licensee’s have taken the decision, that this years event will not take place.
“Due to these difficult times and with uncertain changes to government guidelines within the hospitality industry, we think it is the right decision to make.
“We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you next year. Stay safe everybody.”
