NEWTOWN Road Policing Unit (RPU) has reported an increase in the number of drivers driving under the influence of drugs recently.
The police force posted on Twitter in the early hours of Saturday morning to say they had dealt with three drug-driving related incidents on Friday, and into Saturday morning.
Police had to issue COVID-19 tickets during two of the incidents.
A spokesman for the RPU posted on Twitter: “We’ve seen an increase in drug driving through lockdown. Three today.
“[Number one] for the second time in a week. [Number two] has a court date with ban on way anyway. [Number three was] driving home at 1am.
“Two COVID 19 tickets issued.”
