A FOOTBALL squad have managed to keep on playing competitively and raise money for charity - all from the comfort of their own homes.

As all domestic football in Wales is suspended until May 15 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Kerry FC players have been holding a 'stay at home' tournament, playing against each other on the popular FIFA game.

While enjoying the competition during lockdown, the Dolforgan Park side has been gaining online sponsorship through a Just Giving page with the money raised going towards equipment for the NHS.

The Mid Wales Football League club raised upwards of £330 in less than six hours when their tournament began and just over a week later they have now powered through the £1,000 barrier.

Lambs manager Alex Cookson said: "We are looking to raise as much money as possible so our local NHS staff have the equipment and resources available to help during the COVID-19 outbreak."
