With every passing week of the lockdown, we might be expected to find our horizons growing nearer.

But while many of us might be struggling to remember the views that exist beyond our garden walls, the Powys County Times Camera Club continues to produce pictures with the wow factor.

Some of our members have continued to produce fantastic photography that provides a fresh perspective on the everyday. We love Sorcha Lewis’s picture of a blue tit which fancies submitting some pictures of its own, and Laura Shepherd found a brilliant new perspective on wildlife by making a makeshift hide in her own garden.

Denise Beddoe managed to get a lovely, crisp picture of a peacock butterfly which shows off the rich array of colours on its delicate wings.

This is the time of year when these butterflies are at their most common, but they flit so quickly across our gardens that we can’t always pick out the detail with the precision of Denise’s beautiful shot.

Elsewhere, other photographers have been reminding us of life outside the lockdown by delving into their own personal archives.

Mick Pleszkan captures the Elan Valley in perfect stillness with his beautiful image of hills and water in perfect harmony, while Alice Pryce’s picture of a waterfall in Dolgellau reminds us of nature’s great power.
