A MOTORCYCLIST involved in a traffic collision has been fined by police near Welshpool for a non-essential journey.
Officers called to the collision on the A458, and handed the motorcyclist a fixed penalty fine on learning the driver was 55 miles from their home address, on a non-essential journey during the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokesman for Welshpool Police said: "Following an RTC on the A458 near Welshpool, driver of the motorcycle issued with a COVID fixed penalty ticket as 'exercising' on your motorbike 55 miles from your home address does not class as daily exercise."
