In a world where gyms have become a memory of the past, two lads from Newtown have created a DIY homemade gym using wood, concrete and building materials.

Davey Francis and Alex Davies came together to create the flintstones style gym as a way to get creative with home fitness during the coronavirus pandemic. A video of the DIY gym has been uploaded onto the Home Fitness YouTube channel - which was created by Davey after his gym was forced to close because of the coronavirus outbreak.

On the video introducing the channel, Davey said: "I know a lot of you will be in the same situation panicking with little to no experience with home workouts.

"Some of you may be in self-isolating and wanting to put your newfound free time to use. Me and my tram will be here around the clock to create fitness instructional videos for those now without a gym and those looking to stay active.

"As well as covering the correct technique for the classic workout will also we covering ways to get creative with household items to not only maintain muscle but to keep our progression on track."

He hopes that he can inspire everyone in isolation to train to get and stay fit with his free Home Fitness platform.

Dan Edmunds, who's helping to manage and promote Home Fitness, said: "For the first time in modern history the human race has been forced to adapt and must come together with ways of staying healthy and positive through these dark times. We can make them bright again by using imagination in the right way and making the best of every situation no matter how bad it may be."
