The Fire Tones are back with a new song following on from their Christmas charity single Do They Know It's Christmas.

This time around, the group, formed of firefighters from Welshpool and across the UK, have a coroavirus message; although that wasn't the intention when the song was recorded back in December 2019.

The song, complete with a video of the members of the group singing in full uniform, in true Fire Tones fashion, is a cover of the The Living Years by Mike & The Mechanics.

Sharing the video on Facebook, Welshpool firefighter Chris Birdsell-Jones, who founded the group, said: "This video is a clip from a project we were working on just prior to the Covid-19 outbreak. Although it was never finished we thought we’d share it with you to show our support.

"We would like to thank all members of the emergency services and essential workers who are working incredibly hard to keep the world functioning.

"Remember to stay home, stay safe, look after yourself and each other."

Back in 2018, The Fire Tones formed and recorded Do They Know It's Christmas for charity, with the hope of reaching Christmas number one.
