THE annual Sion Wyn Sevens Rugby Tournament in Machynlleth has been cancelled.
Organisers announced the decision on Wednesday with a statement on social media confirming the annual summer competition would not go ahead due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The statement read: "It is with a heavy heart that Machynlleth RFC have taken the decision to cancel this year's Sion Wyn Sevens.
"This would have been our 25th year of remembering a much loved friend but with the current situation we thought it best to cancel.
"We will be back next year, bigger and better.
"I hope our wider club family and the community understand this has been done to keep our community safe."
