A charity that provides specialist care and support free of charge to families across Montgomeryshire who are living with an incurable illness has received hundreds of pounds from friends and customers of Cefn Coch Inn.

Menna Watkins presented a big cheque for £1,200 to Sylvia Jones for The Severn Hospice at a presentation evening at the rural pub.

Fundraising events including raffles and cake stalls for the local charity.

More than £5,800 has been donated during the last 12 months to the Severn Hospice from the Llanfair Caereinion support group.

Elwyn Owen, chair of Severn Hospice’s Llanfair Caereinion Support Group, said: “We would like to thank all who contributed to the events and are very grateful for the large amount of money raised.”

The charity’s Llanfair Caereinion support group welcomes any groups or individuals to raise funds throughout the year.
