Bryn Fon, Geraint Lovgreen and Sian James are among the stars who will appear in one of Wales’ best-loved TV shows when it is filmed from Llanfair Caereinion.

The full line-up of S4C’s Noson Lawen has been unveiled ahead of four nights of recording at Caereinion Leisure Centre in early April.

Singers, choirs, musicians and comedians from Montgomeryshire and Wales will be broadcast on the Welsh television channel in late 2020 and early 2021.

Profits raised from the event will go towards Gwyl Cerdd Dant Bro Nansi and the Caereinion area Urdd fund.

Machynlleth duo Aeron Pughe and Wil Hendreseifion kick off the four-night show which begins on Saturday, April 4, with performances from talented locals including singer Linda Griffiths, Llanbrynmair tenor Aled Wyn Davies and Cor Dyffryn Dyfi.

Welsh singer Bryn Fon and his band will lead the Sunday evening show with legendary entertainer Dewi Pws, Can i Gymru 2019 winner Elidyr Glyn and singers Robin Evans and Geraint Cynan.

Then on Monday evening, Mari Grug presents the third show from Llanfair Caereinion which will include Llanfyllin tenor Rhodri Prys Jones, Radio Cymru presenter and singer Lisa Angharad and Cor Ysgol Theatre Maldwyn.

Llanerfyl folk singer Sian James and Geraint Lovgreen top the bill on Tuesday which will be presented by Lovgreen’s Llanerfyl-based television presenter daughter Mari. The Prince of Wales’ official harpist, Ali Huws, will also be performing alongside Meifod flautist Carys Gittins, on the final evening of broadcast recordings.

First broadcast in 1982, Noson Lawen has been a firm family favourite on the Welsh-language television channel which has been the springboard to some of the biggest talents in Wales including Bryn Terfel, Connie Fisher and Katherine Jenkins.

Doors open at 7pm, and the shows will begin at 7.30pm at Caereinion Leisure Centre in Llanfair Caereinion.
