THE Environment Agency (EA) is warning that immediate action is to be taken around Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley as more heavy rains batter the region.
The EA's latest update, issued shortly before 9am on Monday morning, shows that river levels are rising at the Llanymynech, Cae Howel and Crew Green gauges, with flooding expected to affect roads around the three villages.
With more heavy rain forecast for the next 48 hours, the river levels are expected to rise to around 6.6m, and the EA is urging people to stay away from low-level footpaths and wetlands.
