WORK at a medical centre in Four Crosses is expected to be finished next month.

Four Crosses Medical Centre has been closed since January 2 after a major programme which was put in to expand the waiting area, three GP consulting rooms and a phlebotomy and treatment room.

The works are set to be complete in time for the scheduled re-opening of the centre on Monday, March 9.

The practice team tried to keep disruption to a minimum, but to ensure the work took place safely and quickly, the period of closure was necessary.

A spokesman for the Llanfyllin Group Practice team said they are eager to re-open on time and are happy to be on track to do so.

“We are delighted that the work is progressing on schedule so that we can re-open at the beginning of March,” they said.

“Once Four Crosses Medical Centre re-opens, there will still be some work to complete to the phlebotomy room, waiting room, and car park.

“But, we do not anticipate any further periods of closure as work will mainly take place outside surgery opening hours.

“This redevelopment will significantly improve the facilities we are able to offer in Four Crosses, and we apologise that this requires a temporary closure while building work takes place."

During the temporary closure of Four Crosses Medical Centre, the practice has put in place a range of alternatives for patients.

Face-to-face appointments have been available from their surgeries in Llanfyllin and Llanrhaeadr through their usual clinical triage pathway.

Repeat prescriptions have been available through a local delivery service to the Premier Store (RJ&JE Lewis) petrol filling station in Llandrinio.
