A WOMAN from Arddleen shaved all her hair for the Wales Air Ambulance and has raised almost £600 and counting.
Patricia Lewis said: “I was just seeing around feeling sorry for myself before Christmas and I thought I wanted to do something for charity.
“I didn’t think I’d raise so much!”
Patricia’s daughter, Tracy Shucker, who’s a hairdresser, chopped all of her hair off on Wednesday last week.
She’s been blown away with the amount of people who have shown their support and donated. Before she made her way to the County Times office, she even had someone give her £5 when she went for coffee in The Royal Oak.
Patricia said: “I’ve never had to use the Air Ambulance, but we don’t know when we might might need it; we never know.
“They get you exactly where you need to be in such a short amount of time and they’re a charity that are entirely reliant on donations.”
Patricia is planning to shave her hair off every year for charity.
She said: “Lots of people doing little things like this, that’s how the Air Ambulance keeps going. I’m so chuffed with myself.”
