Work will start on building Llanidloes Community Centre’s 10 new car park spaces this month.

For the first time the car park will include designated disabled parking spaces and an improved loading area.

Parts of the site will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians while work is carried out. Llanidloes Community Centre directors say they apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The redevelopments are funded through the landfill communities fund regulator, ENTRUST, and Potters Waste Management.

A Llanidloes Community Centre spokesperson said: “It had been hoped with other match funding it would be used to replace the roof. Unfortunately other funding has yet to be secured.

“The ENTRUST scheme has come to an end and the funding must be spent by March 31 so the money is being used for another part of the refurbishment project that received planning approval in 2018.”

The building work will include replacing the retainer wall on Mount Lane which in a poor state of repair. Other sources of funding are being sought for the roof replacement work.
