IT'S a night taylor-made for Swifties.

Swiftogeddon, the club night devoted to celebrated American singer songwriter Taylor Swift, is to make its Southampton debut this spring.

Organiser Dave Fawbert has promised non-stop Swifty all night with deep cuts, extended mixes, fan favourites, album songs and all the hits from Taylor Swift, who has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and is a multiple Grammy Award winner.

He told the Daily Echo: "It's a club night at which I play entirely Taylor Swift songs - ridiculous obviously, but I've been a huge fan for years and just thought 'she's got the material, why not give it a try?' if only for my own enjoyment.

"Amazingly, it seems I'm not alone. The first events at London's Moth Club and Manchester's Gorilla in August both sold out, and were absolutely brilliant fun, and it even got a shout out from Taylor Swift herself."

Taylor described the concept as 'amazing' on her Instagram feed.

Since then, there have been shows in Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Nottingham, which have all proved a huge success.

Swiftogeddon will take over the Engine Rooms on Saturday March 21.

"I cannot wait for another night worshipping at the altar of Taylor Swift," Dave added. "Join fellow fans in a celebration of the genius of the Swift – because she’ll never go out of Style."

Having sold more than 50 million albums, Swift is one of the world's best-selling music artists and the highest-earning female musician of the 2010s. She has won ten Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, achieved six Guinness World Records and is the most-awarded act at the American Music Awards (29 wins) and most-awarded woman at the Billboard Music Awards (23 wins).

As a songwriter, Swift has been honoured by the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was included in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time list in 2015. She appeared in Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world (2010, 2015, 2019) and was ranked first in the Forbes Celebrity 100 (2016 and 2019). In 2019, Swift placed at number eight on Billboard's list of greatest artists of all time—the highest for an act that debuted in the 21st century—and was named Woman of the Decade by the magazine and Artist of the Decade by the American Music Awards.
