AN ATTEMPT was made to ram a police car in Newtown as officers attempted to pursue what was believed to be a stolen van with 'cloned' plates.
On Saturday The Newtown Roads Policing Unit Sergeant took to Twitter to say: "A stolen van on cloned plates made off in Newtown last night.
"During the pursuit items were thrown at the patrol car and attempted to reverse ram it.
"The occupants de camped and made off through gardens.
"Items in the rear believed to be stolen."
