It’s THE New Year and here at the Oswestry and Border Counties Advertizer we’re proud to announce a new partnership with Adrenaline Sporting Events.

We’ve teamed up with Alan Lewis to be the media partner for all six of his sporting events which will come to the Oswestry and surround area over the next 12 months.

Once again the highlight will be the Oswestry 10k which returns for its second stint on Sunday, October 18 and promises to be a big hit with athletes who will be competing from across the country, as well as local runners.

But the Oswestry 10k is just the tip of the iceberg with the return of the Midnight Bike Ride on Saturday, June 20 for the sixth year, and the return of the popular Nippers and Rippers ride for children in Cae Glas Park on Sunday, March 14.

And there will be plenty of new dates for the diary in 2020 with the introduction of the Welshpool 10k on Sunday, March 29; Race the Rock which will take in the stunning scenery around Llanymynech Rock on Sunday, July 5; and a women’s only cycling event, Pedal Pushers, on Sunday, July 19.

Emily Lloyd, editor of the Oswestry Advertizer, said: “We’re proud to be teaming up with Alan and Adrenaline Sporting Events as their media partner in 2020.

“The Midnight Ride, Oswestry 10k and Nippers and Rippers were great successes in 2019 and have demonstrated how sporting events like these can really put Oswestry on the map, provide a boost to tourism, and give individuals a goal challenge themselves with.

“What’s more, as anyone who attended the very first Oswestry 10k will have seen, they really bring our community together to celebrate those achievements.

“We look forward to joining them at each event over the next 12 months.”

Over the next 12 months we will be bring you, our readers, exclusive updates from all seven events before anyone else, plus there will be in-depth features with those involved, sponsors and charitable beneficiaries.

Alan Lewis, from Adrenaline Sporting Events, added: “Adrenaline Sporting Events is thrilled to be teaming up Newsquest - this partnership will help us on our journey of bringing runners and cyclists to the area. It will also hopefully encourage local people to participate and keep fit and active.”
