A Machynlleth town councillor has opted to go to crown court after being charged with the theft of tablets from the Co-op, a court heard today.
Myfanwy Noella Elliott, 66, of Brynygog, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates' Court. She was charged with stealing a packet of Panadol Advance Tablets to the value of £1.80 from the Co-operative in Machynlleth on October 18, 2019.
This offence would have automatically stayed within the magistrates' court, however Elliott opted for the case to go to Mold Crown Court, where she will appear on February 7.
She is expected to plead not guilty. She is on unconditional bail.
