Motorists driving through Castle Caereinion will be met with a new plea to slow down thanks to a local school pupil.
Kal Savage, a Year 2 pupil at Castle Caereinion CiW School, was the overall winner of a road safety poster design competition organised by Mid Wales Housing Association.
Following the development of new houses that have been built behind the school, Mid Wales Housing Association ran a competition for the children to design a road safety poster that would act to slow traffic down as it moves through the village.
Each child that entered was given a prize of a notepad, colouring pens and a set of rubbers.
The Key Stage 2 winner was Maddison Roberts, from Year 6, and Kal was named the Foundation Phase winner.
Both received a £20 gift voucher for their designs from Mid Wales Housing Association mascot Roofus.
Kal’s design was then selected as the overall winner and will now be made into a road sign that will be put on display in the village.
Sarah Brian, headteacher, said: “We are very proud of all of the children for their wonderful designs.”
