A SPORTS club in the Ceiriog Valley received an early Christmas present in the form of a grant to help with the running of its teams.
Glyn Ceiriog Rugby Club received a cheque for £250 from the North Wales Police and Community Trust (PACT) fund to help the club fund training and coaching for players of all ages.
To present the club with the money, PCSOs Gareth Jones and Abbey Land paid a visit to the club last Sunday.
After presenting the cheque to club members and coaches, the PCSOs got a taste of the fun the club members have by participating in a training session with them.
Andrew Mills, a coach at the club, gave thanks to the PCSOs for the cheque, and said it was great to see them enjoy some time at the club.
He said: “It’s great to see these children improve their skills and confidence.
“It was an extra boost to have two PCSOs joining in the game today!”
Glyn Ceiriog Rugby Club is made up of more than 30 members between the ages of seven and 16, with a strong group of committed coaches who give up their spare time to ensure the youngsters have a time and place to train regularly.
