Police in Oswestry have warned people to be careful after a pensioner was targeted by rogue traders.
The incident involving an 82-year-old woman who was living on her own happened in Llanymynech.
Workers, described by OsCops as "unqualified and unskilled" requested £850 from the woman for unnecessary work to her roof and guttering.

No money was passed, but Trading Standards are investigating.
Oswestry Police have warned anyone in doubt when targeted to call 101.
