The A483 has reopened between Newtown and Berriew after a crash closed the road in both directions.
Firefighters from Newtown and Montgomery were called to a crash on the Abermule junction at 11.10am.
A spokesperson said: "One female casualty managed to self-extricate herself from one of the vehicles before the arrival of the fire service. A second casualty was medically trapped and released from the second vehicle by firefighters under the guidance of the Ambulance Service."
A spokesperson from Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police were called to a collision on the A483 at the Abermule junction at just after 11am today.The incident involved a Peugeot 207 and a Ford Focus, and blocked the road. The road was clear by 1pm."
