THE big switch-on of Llanidloes Christmas lights will take place this Saturday, November 30.

The Christmas fair will be at Llanidloes Community Centre in the evening when special guest Santa will be joining the town’s festive celebrations.

A spokesperson for the Christmas Lights group says: “We would like to invite you all to our switch on in Great Oak Street on Saturday, November 30.

“The street will not be closed this year but all the usual attractions will either be at the Community Centre’s Christmas Fair or at the Craft Fair at the Minerva Centre.

“Santa and the Carnival Queen will at outside the Town Hall at 6pm to switch on the lights and then Santa will go over to his Grotto at the Community Centre for our family friendly Fair.

“The Grotto will be open from 6.15pm. The fair will open at the same time and have stalls from local organisations and others selling a variety of items and produce.

“The Christmas Lights Group would like to thank all those who have rallied round to make sure the event went ahead this year and organised so much at very short notice."
