FLINTSHIRE villagers are getting ready for a popular festive event.

The second Christmas in Treuddyn event is to be held on Sunday, December 1 and will be run by the Treuddyn Fundraising Team.

It will include a Christmas fayre at Treuddyn Village Hall from 12noon to 6pm, which will be followed by the village Christmas tree lights switch on at 4pm.

There will then be with carols around the tree and a lantern parade walk through the village.

Organisers have said all stalls for the craft fayre are now sold out - these include unique handmade gifts and food items.

The event will also have a bilingual Santa’s grotto, performances by the Cambria Band and a visit from furry friends at the Reindeer Lodge.

A spokesman for the organisers said: "Having successfully raised £1000 for Marie Curie and £500 for Treuddyn Community Association with events in the last year, we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charities this year which are The Shooting Star Unit Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Treuddyn Community Association.

"It's going to be a fabulous family and community event bringing everyone together with a warm welcome.

"The carols around the Christmas tree will be with a joint choir from Ysgol Terrig and Ysgol Parc Y Llan.

"We had a fabulous turnout last year with excellent feedback and I am sure its going to be another wonderful event this year.

"There's something for everyone - young and old - and we're raising money for excellent causes as well."
