A LLANIDLOES day nursery has won an award after being named the best small business in Wales.

Pitter Patter Day Nursery was announced as winner of the Welsh SME Business Awards’ Small Business of the Year at a ceremony in Cardiff.

Amy Parrotte, nursery owner, said: “It is so nice to be recognised after all the hard work you put in, and so do many other people who run a business.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without my amazing team who really are a credit to Pitter Patter.

“It is so lovely to work with a group of ladies who have the same passion you do, and see their role as more than just a job and for that I thank them all.”

The awards recognise and celebrate thriving small and medium enterprises from across Wales.

The award follows recent success for them at the Welsh Women’s Awards when Amy and deputy manager Emily Owen were awarded Leaders of the Year.

Amy added: “We did it again, winners of Wales SME Small Business of the Year! I feel overwhelmed with the recognition myself and Pitter Patter has received this year with winning two awards.”

The event, organised by Creative Oceanic, gathered Welsh SME businesses for an evening to celebrate their successes over the last year.

Irfan Younis, Creative Oceanic CEO, said: “Congratulations to all winners and finalists of the second Welsh SME Business Awards. We salute you for all you do to create jobs, service your industry and the Welsh economy. We’re excited to see how the SME campaign evolves over coming years.”
