THE FIGHT against anti-social behaviour continues in a Deeside park.

The Leader has previously reported several incidents of vandalism and anti-social behaviour at the Rosie Pond, Wepre Park and the Connah's Quay Angling Club called for something to be done.

North Wales Police recently presented a CCTV camera to the club, in the hope to deter criminal activity.

Alan White, of Connah's Quay and District Angling Club, said: "On the journey to further safeguard the beautiful Rosie Lake at Wepre Park, North Wales PCSO Debbie Devereux presented a CCTV Camera to Connah’s Quay and District Angling Club.

"Debbie stated that in support of many visits she and her colleagues make to the Rosie lake, the camera will help as a deterrent from any anti social behaviour."

Receiving the camera on behalf of the club, chairman Daren Bunce said the CCTV camera would be 'gratefully received' along with the support from the PCSO and North Wales Police which is 'very much appreciated'.

Earlier this year, the Leader reported that Arfon Jones, Police and Crime Commissioner awarded the club £2,500 from the pot of cash seized from criminals.

That money went towards the new fishing platforms that are now installed, enabling the club to continue with its 'Fish early, fish for life' program aimed at youngsters aged from four years to 15 years.

On his visit to see this for himself the PCC stated how 'impressed' he was and is fully supportive of this 'excellent initiative'.

Alan White, vice chairman added: "The club is in the process of increasing the opportunity for other charitable organisations, mental health, disabled, youth along with schools to come and enjoy fishing, providing free coaching using the clubs equipment delivered by the clubs volunteers at Rosie lake. Discussions are already underway to make it so."
