A COFFEE morning to encourage the community to get together was held in Ellesmere on Saturday.
The event was held at Ellesmere Methodist Curch, in Trimpley Street.
It welcomed more than 30 guests who enjoyed tea, coffee and cakes as well as the chance to chat with friends and meet new people.
Church steward Joyce Williams, said she believes events like this one are vital in communities like Ellesmere.
"We organise events like this infrequently throughout the year, we have a number of coffee mornings held here," she said.
"It's a nice opportunity for everyone in the community to come into the church and thoroughly enjoys themselves.
"We have coffee and a nice chat, and there are some stalls here selling various things as well as a raffle.
"It caters to all and allows people to just come along and enjoy themselves.
"I think events like this are hugely important, you should be able to bring the community in to be part of the church.
"The church is here for everyone in Ellesmere, not just for the Sunday services, but for other times for the social aspect.
"It's great, particularly for people who may live on their own – they can come across and meet with friends and new people."
