FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze as it tore through a derelict building in Holyhead on Sunday night.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent four crews to the incident on Lon Newydd just after 9.30pm. Two crews are present at the site more than 12 hours later.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the cause of the blaze is not known.
"We sent four appliances to Lon Newydd, Holyhead at 9.31pm on Sunday after a large, derelict building was on fire", the spokesperson said.
"One main reel and two hose reels were used to put out the fire. The four crews left the scene on Sunday and two returned on Monday morning."
The spokesperson added that fire officers would launch an investigation into the incident later on Monday.
