Police officers are urging motorists to take care on the roads as heavy snow and rain hits parts of Powys.

Several road traffic collisions have been reported across the county on Saturday, November 9.

AA Traffic reports "hazardous" driving conditions due to snow on A483 in Dolfor, Llanbister, and both ways between Newtown and Berriew.

The B4518 between Llanidloes and Staylittle was closed due to adverse conditions but has since re-opened, Dyfed-Powys Police say.

Bad weather caused hazardous driving conditions and heavy traffic on A470 both ways between the Spar shop and Wynnstay House Bed and Breakfast in Llanbrynmair.

Snow disruption caused heavy traffic on B4391 both ways in Penygarnedd, near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.

Motorists had been asked to approach with care on A458 Buttington Cross due to flooding in the area  

The A458 between Llangadfan and Foel re-opened after it was blocked due to heavy snow on Saturday morning.

Dyfed-Powys Police's Llanidloes team said on Twitter: "Lots of RTCs being reported across Powys this morning due to the bad weather. Please take extra care on the roads and don't take any risks."

Traffic Wales say there are poor driving conditions on A458 between Llanfair Caereinion and Welshpool and on A483 between Llanbadarn Fynydd and Llananno.

They said: "Please be aware icy conditions in the area. Gritters are en-route."
