The 10th Food and Craft Fair at Coed-y-Dinas is taking place this weekend, and organisers promise it will be bigger and better than ever before.

This year’s Winter Fair will take place across three days instead of two, and there will be more than 70 stalls for visitors to enjoy.

“We’ve had more interest from stall holders than ever before and we want more people to come and enjoy the event,” said Becky Butler-Jones from the Charlies store.

For lots of customers, the Food and Craft Fair is what marks the start of the festive season. “That’s what everybody says. It’s for them to kick off their Christmas shopping,” Becky said.

And whether or not you’re shopping for Christmas, when you’re at Coed-y-Dinas, you’re supporting local.

Becky said: “It’s all local food and craft, and we’ve worked really hard this year to have a variety of stalls. It’s really nice for our customers, and for our stallholders too, as they don’t have to compete with each other.”

The Food and Craft Fair is free to enter, and there’s free parking at Coed-y-Dinas too. So even if you’re short of cash, you can enjoy the music, demonstrations and hopefully get your hands on some free tasters as you make you way around the stalls.

This year there will be a performance form the Porthywaen Silver Band and new this year, from the Tenovus Cancer Care Choir.

There will also be cooking demos using different equipment by Mal Harradine – and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to try a little of what he cooks up.

  • The fair will take place on: Friday, November 1, from 8.30am to 5.30pm; Saturday, November 2, from 8.30am to 5.30pm; Sunday, November 3, 10am to 4pm.
