Areas of Mid and South Powys are the best places in the UK to pass your driving test quickly, research has shown.

Data from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency sourced by Adrian Flux has shown that the Llandrindod Wells postcode has a driving test pass rate which is more than 20 per cent higher than the UK average.

This area includes Rhayader, Knighton, Presteigne, Builth Wells, Llanwrtyd Wells, Brecon, Talgarth and Sennybridge.

Learner drivers in the area have an overall pass rate of 66.2 per cent. They are twice as likely to get their licence within six months than the national average (36.3 per cent compared to 18.5 per cent).

The Llandrindod Wells postcode area also tops the list for those passing within 12 months and 18 months.

Those aged 16 to 24 are also more than twice as likely as the average to get their full licence within six months.

Halifax, Oldham and Wolverhampton appear in the ten worst areas for getting a licence with six months and 12 months. These places also appear in the top five worst pass rates in the country.
