THIS is not the end; a police sergeant has said, as officers continue the fight against County Lines.

The South Flintshire policing team successfully executed a warrant in Jubilee Court, Buckley on Friday morning.

Officers confirmed they carried out the warrant following intelligence received from the public, as part of Operation Blue Dragon, aiming to crack down on County Lines.

County Lines is the supply of drugs into rural areas from larger cities such as Liverpool.

At their briefing, officers were told that ‘a lot of elderly people’ reside at Jubilee Court and this was a ‘classic case of cuckooing’ involving a vulnerable adult.

The Leader:

Police confirmed they were concerned about the occupier’s welfare due to a lot of ‘comings and goings’ from the address.

They confirmed they ‘had an idea’ of the Merseyside Organised Crime Gang’ and needed to ‘stop’ what they are doing.

Sgt Katie Newby said: “This is not the end for us, this is just the beginning.

“The more you look, the more you see, and we will continue to monitor the property.”

From the address, officers recovered mobile devices and drug paraphernalia under a section 8 order.

The Leader:

The road policing unit and sniffer dogs were also on hand to assist with enquiries.

Police confirm a number of warrants were planned throughout the Mold and Buckley area as part of the operation.

Residents of Jubilee Court have expressed their anger and fear over the drugs supply being so close to home.

One woman, who did not want to be named, said: “A lot of residents are scared.

“It’s disgusting, a lot of old people live here, and they are all petrified.

“Half of them live on their own. My nan and grandad are lucky because they have each other but anything can happen.

“They (drug gangs) need removing, it’s not safe.”

The Leader:

North Wales Police is urging people to come forward with information regarding suspicious activity or concerns over drugs.

Sgt Newby added: “It’s massive for us but the public have a part to play in that.

“We need information from them so we can act sooner.”
