TRACTOR enthusiasts from in and around Crifitins took to the roads at the weekend in a celebration if all things mechanical.

More than 30 classic tractors travelled from Crifitins Parish Hall on Sunday, October 6 on a tour of the roads around the village to raise money for the hall.

The event was organised by chairman of the parish hall, John Baker and event marshal Lew Lewis said there was a good turn out for a first time event.

"It's the first time we've done it. John Baker, the chairman of Criftins Parish Hall organised it to raise funds for the village hall," said Lew.

"We've had 35 tractors turn up, which I think is good for the first time. They'll go on a tour of the surrounding area for a two hour run before returning back for Sunday lunch.

"John's a farmer, so he's got all his farmer friends involved. People have come from all around, from Whixall, Ellesmere and other places. It's been really good."
