POLICE are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in the Newtown area.
On, September 23 at 5.45am, a female was approached while in the carpark of Tesco’s, Newtown, by a male dressed in all black and wearing a woolly hat, with his hood up.
He was described as a skinny build and in his 20’s. The suspect has grabbed at the females handbag and attempted to take it from her before being disturbed by an approaching vehicle.
The suspect ran off towards the Vauxhall Garage, Newtown.
A Dyfed Powys police spokesman said: "We would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Tesco or Pool Road and the Vauxhall Garage around the time the offence has taken place, especially if you were the driver or passenger of the approaching vehicle.
