TEACHERS have been going the extra mile this term with their fundraising efforts.
Ruth Tudor, Gwyneth Phillips and Manon Watkin have been fitting in raising funds for charity around teaching at Caereinion High School.
While Ms Tudor has been baking and selling cakes for good causes, Ms Phillips undertook the ‘step challenge’ at Shrewsbury Town FC’s stadium for a mental health charity supported by one of her favourite players, the Shrewsbury defender Omar Beckles.
The challenge involved climbing the steps at The New Meadow.
Ms Watkin has been taking part in the ‘Sweatember’ challenge for Cancer Research UK.
She said: “This has involved committing to doing exercise every day which is something I didn’t do before.
“I’ve been cycling, on a cross-trainer and even a min-trampoline.
“Cancer affects many people and that has been my motivation.”
