Caereinion High School sports teams will be taking to the court with a new look thanks to sponsorship from an award-winning business.

Netball and hockey players representing the school have a revamped kit following a sponsorship deal with training provider Cambrian Training.

Headteacher Philip Jones said he is "delighted" with the sponsorship which strengthens links between the school and the Welshpool-based business.

“The school punches above its weight in terms of sports success at a local, county and national level.

“Last year, we achieved county success in both hockey and netball and participation rates across the school are very high.

“I am delighted that Cambrian Training has acknowledged the dedication to sport within the school and both organisations recognise the importance of continuing to promote health and wellbeing.”

Staff from Cambrian Training give advice about apprenticeship routes available to pupils who are considering their career options and provide ‘Have-a-go’ activities at the school.

Cambrian Training's Katy Godsell said: “The kit sponsorship is part of the company’s ongoing relationship with the school to raise awareness of apprenticeship opportunities and to support young people in the community.”

A hospitality training officer holds weekly pre-apprenticeship sessions for pupils who wish to progress to an apprenticeship when they leave school at the age of 16.
