THE Large organic gardens at Llangoed Hall Hotel will be open for the National Garden Scheme on Sunday, September 29.

As an added bonus at this opening you are invited to help yourself to the fruit from their 98 fruit trees within the walled garden.

The historic country house hotel is surrounded by 17 acres of parkland and organic gardens with shrub and mixed borders and a formal herb garden.

Chickens and ducks are housed in the kitchen garden where vegetables are grown for the hotel.

There is also a maze and croquet lawn. Open from 2pm until 5pm, admission is £4 for adults, children free; Llangoed Hall Hotel can be found at Llyswen, Brecon, LD3 0YP.

It has been a hugely successful year the National Garden Scheme in Powys with thousands of garden visitors enjoying splendid gardens, tea and delicious cake.

Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors, the National Garden Scheme has donated over £58m to charity since 1927.
