A man in his 40s was found unconscious and with facial injuries in Builth Wells on Saturday night.
The man was found between 10.15pm and 11.15pm in the alleyway next to Barclays Bank that runs down to the Groe Carpark.
His facial injuries required medical attention and £30 in cash was missing.
Police in the town are appealing for any information about the incident.
