CATS Protection’s Newtown and District Branch is on the prowl for volunteer fundraisers so the charity can raise more money to help cats and kittens.

The charity relies on donations so the roles are essential in ensuring that their vital feline welfare work in the area can continue.

“Organising fundraising events is varied and interesting as events can range from traditional raffles, fetes and fairs to sponsored head shaves or abseiling. The charity is always open to new and creative ideas,” said Rachel Dring, Cats Protection’s regional fundraising manager.

“The volunteer-run branch does a huge amount of work to help cats so sparing just a couple of hours a week can make a huge difference to needy cats. We are sure that whoever takes on the role will find it incredibly rewarding. It’s also a great way to make new friends – both human and feline.”

No previous experience is necessary and the charity will provide plenty of assistance and support. As well as finding new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats, it also offers cat care advice to the public and can help towards the cost of neutering. Anyone interested in the role should email or call 07790844657.
