An OSWESTRY car repair company is looking forward to playing a part in the inaugural Oswestry 10k event next month.

Fix Auto Oswestry will be supplying cars to lead and follow the runners on the day of the run.

Business manager, Lee Hitch, has known Oswestry 10k organiser Alan Davies since his childhood, and is happy to be able to help him with the new event.

“Alan’s done a lot of good things for charity and I’ve always liked to support that,” said Lee. “At the same time my wife is keen about running and will be taking part in the event.

“We are more than happy to support Alan with the event.”

Lee is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces taking part in the event, and said he is looking forward to parking up at the finish line to cheer them on.

He also believes the event will be very positive for Oswestry.

He added: “I was very happy that Alan approached us. It’s great to be able to support a friend who’s doing something amazing for the community.

“It’s very good for Oswestry and any town that has an event like this.

“It’s definitely a positive for the area and will bring people into the town.

“It’s going to be exciting on the day, and it will be nice to get out of the car at the finish line and see my wife, family and friends crossing the line.”

The Oswestry 10K will be held on October 13.
