A NEWTOWN man bit another man’s nose in a pub toilet because he feared he was going to steal his bike, a court heard.
Aaron Hassall denies assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is on trial at Mold Crown Court.
His alleged victim, Michael Griffiths, suffered cuts to his nose and reddening around his neck after the incident at the Black Boy pub in Newtown on December 15 last year.
Prosecuting barrister Frances Willmott said the two men knew each other and when Mr Griffiths went into the pub toilet he was confronted by Hassall who grabbed him by the throat.
“He (Hassall) demanded to know if Mr Griffiths was intending to steal his bike,” said the barrister.
“He told him to shut up and then bit him on the nose.”
Hassall, 24, of Francis Place, Newtown was arrested on January 2 this year, but offered “no comment” interviews to police.
The trial continues.
