IRAQ meets Wales in a Musical Journeys concert at Presteigne Assembly Rooms this Saturday night, September 14.
Oud master and composer from Iraq, Ahmed Mukhtar, multi-genre cellist Sonia Hammond and improviser and composer Camilla Saunders will be playing together.
The concert features arrangements of Ahmed’s own compositions and traditional Iraqi tunes, with all three musicians exploring and developing different responses through improvisation.
Listeners can expect a fascinating evening, travelling through different musical worlds.
