A MAN has been charged with intending to cause grievous bodily harm after a series assault in Guilsfield on Sunday.

Craig John Bailey, 48, of Garth Vaughan, Guilsfield, appeared from custody at Welshpool Magistrates Court charged with two offences.

He was charged with unlawful malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Thomas Gibson, and causing criminal damage to the wing mirror of a white Leyland motor vehicle belonging to Mr Gibson.

Bailey did not enter a plea to either charge and Helen Tench, prosecuting, suggested the case was only suitable to be dealt with in the crown court.

Owain Jones, defending, made no representations and did not make a bail application.

Chair of the magistrates bench Nerys Jones sent the case to the crown court, with the next hearing to take place at Mold Crown Court on October 11.

Bailey was remanded in custody until that date.
