Berriew Show drew the crowds on Saturday for a day of top events in the sweltering sun.

“It was lovely, it was almost a little bit too warm,” said the Show Chairman, Wayne Jones.

“It was nice to have wall to wall sunshine. It was very busy, there were lots of people, lots of crowds.”

There’s no real idea of numbers at the moment, but even the overflow carpark was filled by around 1pm on the day of the show.

“It’s really good to see that it’s a popular show and it’s well attended. The community put a lot of time and effort into it. About 12 of us work on the committee, and lots of other people help out too.

“To see all the work come together over the 12 months and having it all go so well makes it all worthwhile,” Wayne said.

The show’s committee said that there had been a particularly high number of entrants in some of the sections this year, and that the quality was high too.

Wayne said that it was good to see more young people getting involved with the running of the show. “It’s really important we pass it on, people they are the future,” he said.
